Evaluation 101 course – November 27th, 2012

Introduction to Program Evaluation Workshop
The Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Evaluation Society will offer a one-day introductory workshop on program evaluation and development of evaluation frameworks. This is a great opportunity to learn about evaluation from both the workshop presenters and others involved in evaluation.

Workshop Topics
The workshop will introduce participants to basic evaluation concepts and help them understand how and why evaluation should be conducted. Topics to be discussed include: Types of Evaluation, Program Description and Logic Model, Data Collection and Analysis, Communicating Evaluation Findings and Creating an Evaluation Culture.

Who Should Attend?
This is a beginner level workshop for anyone interested in evaluation. Whether you conduct evaluations yourself, need to contract evaluators or manage projects, this workshop will be of great interest to you.

Where?
This one day session will be held at the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association at 35 MacDonald Avenue in Burnside, Dartmouth. See directions below:

Directions (coming from Dartmouth/Cole Harbour/111 – Circumferential Highway)
-Take Exit 3 toward Burnside Industrial Park/Highfield Park Drive
-Turn right onto Burnside Dr.
-Take 1st left onto Ronald Smith Ave (at Street light; large intersection)
-Turn left onto Ilsley Avenue (at Street light; Tim Hortons behind the street light)
-Take the 1st right onto MacDonald Ave
-Venue is 35 MacDonald Ave (one-story brick building with an orange roof; NSCSA sign)

Directions (coming from Halifax/Windmill Road)
-After bridge toll booth, keep right, take exit 2W toward NS-7 W/Bedford/Lower Sackville
-Merge onto Victoria Road
-Follow Victoria Road until it merges with Windmill Road and becomes #7 Highway (Trunk 7 W)
-Take a right onto Wright Avenue (at set of lights; Irving Station on your right)
-Take 1st right onto MacDonald Ave (at set of lights)
-Venue is 35 MacDonald Ave (one-story brick building with an orange roof; NSCSA sign)

Directions (coming from Sackville/ #7Highway)
-Come into Burnside on the #7 Highway (magazine hill) (Trunk 7 E)
-Turn left onto Wright Ave (set of lights, McDonalds on your right; Ultramar on left)
-Take the 1st right onto MacDonald Ave (at set of lights)
-Venue is 35 MacDonald Ave (one-story brick building with an orange roof; NSCSA sign)

The workshop fee includes lunch, nutritional snacks and printed material.
