Professional Development Opportunity: Building Evaluation Culture & Capacity

The Canadian Evaluation Society-Nova Scotia Chapter invites you to attend a workshop facilitated by  Dr. Nancy Carter & Dr. Kaireen Chaytor:  Building Evaluation Culture & Capacity

 Overview

This workshop, informed by current literature (e.g. Mayne, Kim, Boyle and Lemaire), will focus on building internal evaluation capacity leading to a strengthened culture of evaluation. This interactive workshop will present instruments that help to diagnose your workplace including a model to assess and compare your current organizational capacity and culture. Issues such as where the evaluation function is located, how evaluation is linked with strategic planning and budgeting, how evaluation is used in decision-making and how demand for evaluation is created will be part of the diagnosis of evaluation culture.

 Participants will leave with:

  • an understanding of evaluation culture and capacity and its relationship to organizational learning
  • the ability to diagnose evaluation culture and capacity in their own organization
  • practical tools and examples of how to build and strengthen an evaluation culture in their organization
