The CES Nova Scotia Chapter is excited to host Andrea Redmond on Feb 17, 12 – 1 pm (AST) for “Pulling Back the Curtain on an Organization’s Culture of Learning and Evaluation”.
What constitutes a culture of evaluation? As part of my Masters of Adult Education program and research requirement, I delved into this question starting in 2017. The research project resulted in an appreciative-inquiry case study of an organization’s practices as measured through John Mayne’s proposed framework for a culture of evaluation. The research findings, while congruent with Mayne’s framework, revealed some interesting elements that have not been fully examined in the evaluation literature for their important role. Using an adult education constructivist perspective, I will discuss these elements and their potential for developing an evaluating and learning organization.

Andrea Redmond is completing her Masters of Adult Education program at St. FX University. She is employed in the Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage as the regional manager of Communities, Sport and Recreation, for the Central Region. She is the mother of two entertaining adventurous young men studying in Halifax. Andrea enjoys getting around the province for hiking, biking, and kayaking, often in the company of Rudy, a highly-tuned Springer-Beagle.
