The CES-CESEF Student Case Competition Final Round takes place on May 11!

The final round of the CES-CESEF Student Case Competition will be held on Tuesday, May 11 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm EDT (4:30 to 6:30 ADT) via Zoom! The finalists this year involve two teams from Simon Fraser University and a team from the University of Montreal.

There is no cost to attend. However, registration at the following link is required:

For those unfamiliar with the event, each team will have 20 minutes to present their proposal (based on an RFP) and 10 minutes to answer questions. The Judges panel will ask 3 questions (of a team) and the organizers intend to accommodate 1 short question from a select sponsor and possibly 1 from the audience, depending on time. After the presentations, the organizers will close off the initial Zoom call and then reconvene at 7:30 EDT (8:30 ADT) for the announcement of the winning team. More info is available at https://competition.evaluationcanada.ca/.

From both competing and attending, I can tell you personally that this event is a huge opportunity for the students to showcase their knowledge and skills in front of a peer audience. And it is a joyful and inspiring experience for audience members who may also learn about new tools and trends in the field.

Please note, the 2021 CES-CESEF Student Case Competition is being hosted separately from the CES National Conference (C2021) and is not accessed through the C2021 virtual conference platform (Pheedloop). In fact, Tuesday is a day off at the Conference so there is no conflict with concurrent sessions or with other C2021 activities.
