🏫 About the Organization
The Faculty of Dentistry has received funding from Health Canada to implement and evaluate a multi-year project aimed at “Developing an Inclusive, Patient-Centered Oral Healthcare Model for Canadians Through Evaluation, Education and Hands-On Training.”
This initiative enhances training for dental hygiene and dentistry students, as well as practicing oral health professionals, to better serve Canada’s diverse population. By engaging both patients and providers, the project will identify barriers to care and develop interventions that prepare dental professionals to deliver inclusive, equitable, patient-centered oral healthcare.
📋 Job Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director, Research and Graduate Studies, the Evaluation Research Associate will support the overall direction of the project. Depending on background and interests, there may be opportunities to participate in related research projects in collaboration with faculty members and an experienced applied research and evaluation consultant.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Research Ethics Board applications.
- Conduct consultations using interviews, focus groups, surveys, and observational methods.
- Monitor and analyze project data.
- Support implementation of the evaluation plan and data collection processes.
- Lead and monitor the communication plan.
- Liaise with Evaluation Consultant and others to identify and communicate risks.
- Monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure project goals are met.
- Prepare documentation and reporting for funders and partners.
Note: Local travel and flexible hours may be required. Hybrid work (on-campus and remote within Nova Scotia) is available based on operational needs.
🎓 Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Health Sciences, Education, Business Administration) plus 5+ years’ experience, or equivalent.
- Experience conducting interviews, focus groups, consultations, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
- Strong oral and written communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, work independently, and take ownership of tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and access to transportation for offsite consultations.

- PhD in a relevant field (Health Sciences, Education, Business Administration).
- Experience with collaborative evaluation or research initiatives.
- Experience in academic or healthcare environments.
